LEAD 4000: Leadership Capstone

After having completed all elements of the Leadership Minor, I've come to understand the complexity of leadership and need for collaboration. I see leadership as a process, though one without a definitive end. The call for leadership is open to anyone who wishes to take the opportunity in engaging with a variety of people regarding a unique (and likely frequently changing) set of items. I understand the value in approaching tasks, regardless of their size or perceived impact, with the hearts and well-being of the group, in mind. We will be successful in leadership as we remind ourselves of our purpose, doing everything we can to stay true to our values, and aligning the group's actions in accordance with our mission. I've experienced the most growth in my confidence of my own understanding of leadership. I truly believe that the letter my grandpa sent me to college with, encouraging me to work hard and be proud of myself, provides the foundation for my understanding. Through my four years at CU Boulder, I have seen what I am capable of, with the combination of hard work and taking time to be proud of myself. As I've grown to see this in myself, I am confident I can encourage others to do the same. I begin my job at CU Boulder just a few days after graduation this May and am anxious to engage with the CU community in a different way. Moving forward, I intend to work hard and acknowledge what I have accomplished--I anticipate doing so will continue to provide me the opportunity to make positive, lasting impacts.
