Gretchen Cope

I was the Social and Digital Media Intern for the CU Boulder Alumni Association from August 2016-now (although upon the completion of my ePortfolio I will have finished). While the position I was hired on to take was not a leadership position itself, I came to have leadership roles throughout my time. I selected this experience as it was a unique balance of being "led" (as an intern with a boss and other supervisors) and "leading" (my involvement with the Herd and introducing my second boss to the position). Additionally, the nearly three years I spent in this position included several changes, three of which impacted my work closely: taking over the Herd social and digital media presence, having my first boss leave her role and a new person coming in, and the Marketing and Communications department of the Alumni Association transitioning to the Office of Advancement.
